About

Hello, I'm Josh

I'm a director and photographer from London, and I've also lived in Amsterdam and Montserrat.

I'm interested in most things made with care: art and design, graphics, textiles, sculpture, architecture, a well-built car, a good stadium on a match day. Cinema captured my imagination early, through animation, manga and many 90s films I was perhaps (a little) young for.

Cameras have always felt special to me. They capture the best and worst of what the world has to offer, the humanity and truth in complete strangers, and with work, a window into the imagination.

I'm drawn to people committed to their chosen interest or craft. Fighters, drivers, tailors, mechanics, anyone building their own world or working toward something better. Most of my films end up being about them.

Away from a shoot I'm usually putting a deck together, chasing an idea or reading a screenplay. There's normally a Fuji in my bag too, and it's been to Istanbul, Antalya, Rotterdam, Costa Rica, St Martin, Montserrat and Antigua.

I trained at the National Film and Television School, where I did an MA in Directing and Producing Television, after years in live sport broadcast.
